Porsche short sellers’ lawsuit is joined by 18 funds

Saturday, May 1st, 2010

NEW YORK (Bloomberg) — Two more funds are among 18 short sellers of Volkswagen AG stock that joined a fraud lawsuit against Porsche Automobil Holding SE.

The funds of David Einhorn’s Greenlight Capital Inc. and Julian Robertson’s Tiger Management LLC were added as plaintiffs in an amended complaint filed in federal court in New York. The 18 new plaintiff funds bring the total to 35. They accuse Stuttgart, Germany-based Porsche of secretly cornering the market in Volkswagen shares and later causing them more than $2 billion in losses.

The short sellers claim that Porsche misled investors by denying through much of 2008 that it intended to acquire Volkswagen and by using manipulative trades to hide its stock positions. Porsche said on Oct. 26, 2008, that it controlled most of Volkswagen’s common stock, causing the shares to surge as short sellers raced to cover their positions. Geneva Preview: Porsche Cayenne Diesel gets the TechArt Treatment

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

For some reason, Porsche tuner TechArt has decided to release an exclusive aerokit for the recently introduced Cayenne Diesel that’s powered by an Audi-derived, 240-horsepower 3.0-liter V6 TDI. Though less extreme than the firm’s other tuning packages, the accessorized Cayenne Diesel definitely stands out. TechaArt’s aero kit includes a front spoiler with additional lights, side skirts, roof spoiler, a rear apron with an integrated diffuser and headlight / tail light trims. All components are made from high quality polyurethane RIM.

The package is complemented by a set of 21-inch alloy wheels shod in 295/35 Continental tires, but buyers can also opt for 22-inch alloys. If your pocket can handle it, TechArt also offers a variety of upgrades for the interior including a new steering wheel, alloy pedals and a full leather treatment.
